In order to improve the performance of the main Moodle server, reduce the database size, and make it easier for students and faculty to find current courses, we created two Moodle servers:
- Our main Moodle Server – http://moodle.bucknell.edu – contains the following course categories:
- Community Sites (Departments, Organizations, etc.)
- Entering Students (Academic Responsibility Orientation, First-Year Reading, etc.)
- Academic Resources (Advisor and Major courses)
- Summer 2015 and Fall 2015 Courses (and subsequent semesters after that)
- Our Moodle Archive Server – http://moodle-archive1.bucknell.edu – contains all the past academic course, in other words, all courses from Fall 2010 through Spring 2015.
Our plan is to retain eight years worth of Moodle courses on the two servers – the four most recent years on the main Moodle Server, and the four years before that on the Archive Server. (Community sites will remain on the main Moodle Server.) Faculty members and students will have access to both servers, and faculty members can move content from the Archive Server to the main Moodle Server using the Backup and Restore Process.
We have placed links at the top of each server to help you move from the main Moodle server to the Archive Server. Here is the link from the main Moodle Server to the Moodle Archive Server:
