The test flight of the new ITEC Phantom drone took place on the quad today, near the library. The drone, which is equipped with a high-resolution GoPro video camera, can fly to an altitude of several hundred feet. This exciting new technology opens up a wide variety of new possibilities for video projects on campus. Bucknell students and faculty can use the drone to capture unique images of architecture, landscapes, and built environments, or to get a new perspective on everyday events!
Checkout video footage from the drone’s first flight below, and look for the drone overhead the next time you are near the Bertrand library!
*Update: the quadcopter drone is currently grounded due to FAA regulations.
