As a member of Digital Pedagogy & Scholarship group, the Digital Pedagogy Specialist is directly responsible for supporting and adding value to the education Bucknell students receive. The Digital Pedagogy Specialist works directly with students and faculty in the application of technology by identifying, exploring, promoting and supporting technology solutions and course projects that benefit student learning and faculty instruction. The specialist is fully engaged with students and faculty providing relevant instruction, outreach and support for teaching, learning and scholarship through the creation and application of technology.
- provides specialized instruction, advice and guidance (especially to students) in the application of technology via workshops, class instruction sessions and one-to-one meetings
- manages and coordinates DP&S’ team of Student Technology Assistants and student training
- collaborates with faculty and students to explore technologies that may represent new opportunities for student learning and digital scholarship especially with multimedia
- serves as an advocate for students by ensuring that technology tools and solutions that support course projects are reliable, well-maintained and supported effectively
- through active assessment and program review, assures work and contributions are meeting work group, organization and University goals
- participate in outreach services, marketing and assessment program to improve services
- actively identifies possible points for integration and closer interaction with other areas of Library & IT especially as it relates to student use of technology in the curriculum
- Collaborates with faculty and Research Services librarians to inspire and support student use of information resources and instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning
- As appropriate, both leads and participates in key projects and strategic initiatives related to technology, outreach and student support
