As part of their support for student and faculty research, our reference librarians have created research guides for particular disciplines and particular courses. You can find a list of those guides, organized by subject, at http://researchbysubject.bucknell.edu/.
If a Library Research guide has been created for your subject area or for your particular course, you can link to it directly from your Blackboard or Moodle course, providing an excellent, easy-to-use resource for your students. If a guide has not been created but you would like one, simply contact your Library Liaison.
In Blackboard, you can add a button to the course navigation menu to provide a direct link to a Research by Subject guide:
In Moodle, you can add a “html block” to your course page that will enable students to go directly to the Research by Subject Guide:
In Blackboard or Moodle, creating this link will take the students to the Library Research Guide created particularly for the course, where students can find recommended databases, discipline-specific instructions on how to cite sources, and information about how to contact the reference librarian who supports that specific discipline.
Please contact ITEC if you want help linking from Blackboard or Moodle to a Research by Subject guide created for your course or your subject area by your Library Liaison.
