Library & Information Technology offers several summer grants and opportunities for faculty interested in incorporating technology into their teaching and/or research:
Digital Summer Research Grant
- Supports research that enhances or creates new ways for faculty to engage in digital scholarship with students.
- Faculty stipend: $500

Faculty Open Educational Resources Grant
- supports the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force on Integrating Open Educational Resources and Residential Learning
- supports the production of materials by faculty that can be used in their own courses and also made available for others outside of Bucknell to use, remix, tweak, and build upon.

Digital Pedagogy Institute
- When: Monday, May 22 – Friday, May 26 and Thursday, August 3 – Friday, August 4
- Where: Bertrand 025 (Library Lab)
- Application Deadline: Monday, February 27, 2017
- Purpose: This institute is intended to help faculty identify and create 2-3 specific modules or assignments for a course that integrate established teaching methods with emerging digital methodologies and tools in order to meet your learning outcomes, increase student engagement, and further students’ digital literacy skills. The institute is aligned with the University’s digital scholarship initiative, whereby teaching and research are enhanced, extended, or reconsidered through application of technology.
- Structure: Over the course of the first week–May 22-26–you will work with members of Digital Pedagogy & Scholarship and Research Services in order to develop new assignments or alter existing ones. After drafting the assignments, you will learn the necessary technology skills, and test run your assignment. At each stage of the process, you will receive feedback and assistance from members of DP&S and Research Services. After the initial week of the institute, you will have continued help and feedback in order to finalize the assignments and prepare them for implementation in your course. In August, we will reconvene and discuss the progress of the assignment design, any challenges that need to be addressed before the start of the semester, develop rubrics for assessment, and present your work to the other participants.
- Stipend: The stipend for 2017 Digital Pedagogy Summer Institute is $2,000 ($1,000 after the initial week in May and $1,000 after the follow-up session in August). Participants must commit to attending both sessions. We will have a follow-up lunch in December to discuss the success and challenges you experienced during the first semester of the integration.
- Eligibility: Untenured and tenured faculty are eligible. Faculty in the last year of an appointment are not eligible.
