Moodle has two different kinds of assignments that faculty members can use to allow students to submit course-related work: the Assignment Activity and the Turnitin Assignment. Both of those assignment types have an additional feature that allows a faculty member to provide electronic comments to student work. For the Assignment Activity, an instructor can add "Feedback comments" within Moodle, and s/he can also upload a modified version of the submitted assignment with instructor feedback. For the Turnitin Assignment, an instructor can use "Grademark" to provide an end comment and additional marginal comments.
Although students can return to a Moodle course to see those comments, students may also want to download the comments for future reference. Below are links to instruction sheets that explain the process for both types of assignments:
