With Moodle 2.5 and below, you could modify, delete, move, indent (etc.) an activity or resource by using one of the small icons that appeared when you hovered your mouse over (or on the same line as) that activity or resource with Edit Mode on:
Moodle 2.6 simplifies the editing interface, collapsing most of those icons into a single drop-down menu. When Edit Mode is on, you see only the small gray pencil ("Edit title") icon next to the activity or resource – the one that allows you to change the name of the activity or resource as it appears on the main Moodle course page. All other editing icons are grouped together in a drop-down menu that you see by clicking on the "Edit" link on the right side of the page, on the same line as the item itself:
If you want to make changes to the item (besides altering its title), you click on the "Edit" link to drop down the menu, and then you click on the link for the desired change.
Here is a YouTube video if you want to sing along with this blog post. Just remember to substitute the word “icons” for “flowers,” “young girls,” “husbands,” “soldiers,” and “graveyards.” 😉
